Vitality Park

Vitality Park is in the Happy Valley neighborhood of Langford, B.C. This peaceful neighborhood park has a small playground. The playground is composed a small swing set with some climbing apparatus. It borders along the Galloping Goose Trail – Langford. Loma Linda Park, Southern Vancouver Island Rangers Green Space and AT Gordon Memorial Park are nearby.

Vitality Park can be reached from the Trans Canada Highway also called Hwy1. Turn at Mill Stream Road and head south toward Sooke along Veteran’s Memorial Parkway. Continue along VMP to reach Latoria Road. Turn right onto Latoria Road and continue along to Happy Valley Road. Turn left onto Happy Valley Road and continue along to reach Vitality Drive. Turn left onto Vitality Drive and look for the park on the right as the road curves to the left.

Crystalview Elementary School Green Space

Crystalview Elementary School Green Space is in the Mill Hill neighborhood of Langford, B.C. Surrounded by Douglas fir and Garry oak forests, this two hectare green space is formed by a sport field, play areas and a playground. The grass field is a flat outdoor space in this rather steep sloped neighborhood and is a great place to toss a Frisbee or kick a ball around. The playground is set on wood chips with a slide, monkey bars and climbing apparatus. The play areas are asphalt with white paint outline hopscotch and four corner games. This property is part of the Sooke School District 62 and has limited access during school hours. The green space borders on Mill Hill Regional Park and Millpond Park. Ruby Court Park, Mill Hill Regional Park, Crystalview Park, Nugget Park, Tanzanita Park and the Galloping Goose Trail are nearby.

Crystalview Elementary School Green Space can be reached from the Trans Canada Highway also called Hwy1. Turn at Millstream Road and turn south onto Veterans Memorial Parkway. Turn left onto Hoffman Avenue then right onto Winster Road and left onto Atkin Road. At the four way stop, make a soft turn onto Silverstone Way and continue up the hill to find the yellow gates and sign for the school grounds at 2662. There is limited parking near the school during school hours. City buses travel along Atkins Road.

Watkiss Way Green Space

Watkiss Way Green Space is a small rocky outcropping along the north side of Watkiss Way near Marler Drive in View Royal, B.C. A rough foot path connects this end of Marler Road to Watkiss Way. The rocky slopes of the green space are covered with Himalayan blackberry plants, grasses and a few trees. Thetis Lake Regional Park can be reached using the pathway to the WAtkiss Road. Marler Park is north along Marler Road. The playground at Marler Park which connects to the trail along Craigflower Creek is close. Chalmers Court Park, Riverside Drive Green Space, Thetis Lake Regional Park, Craigflower Creek Park, the Galloping Goose Trail-View Royal, the Trans Canada Trail-View Royal and Francis View Park are nearby.

Watkiss Way Green Space can be reached from the Trans Canada Highway also called Hwy1. Take Exit 11 onto Six Mile Road to reach the Old Island Highway. Turn left onto the Old Island Highway to follow the branch that passes under the Trans Canada Freeway bridges and continue to the junction of Burnside Road and Watkiss Way. Turn left onto Watkiss Way then turn right onto Marler Drive. Turn immediately left onto Marler Drive, a short section of the road that parallels Watkiss Way. There is limited roadside parking. City buses travel along Watkiss Road to the junction with Highland Road.

Quincy Street Green Space

Quincy Street Green Space trail

Quincy Street Green Space has a unique rocky outcrop with a view of the residential neighborhood of View Royal, B.C. There are Garry oak trees and blackberry bushes in this green space which also has a rough pathway along the road right-of-way for Quincy Street. This green space provides a good access to a view point and some extraordinary outdoor art. Chancellor Park, Conard Street Green Space, Knockan Hill Park, Galloping Goose Trail and Victoria General Hospital Green Space are nearby.

Quincy Street Green Space can be reached from Hwy1. Turn off on Exit 8, Helmcken Road, and head northward toward the Victoria General Hospital. Continue on Helmcken Road to reach Burnside Avenue West. Turn right onto Burnside Avenue West. Take the first right onto Quincy Street and continue to the end of the road. There is limited roadside parking. City buses travel along Burnside Road West.
