Henson Trail

Henson Trail is in the Goldstream neighborhood of Langford, B.C. The one kilometer trail branches off of the Ed Nixon Trail near Langford Lake and continues along the Trans Canada Highway toward the West Shore Parkway. After crossing the parkway the trail follows along the concrete sidewalk past the gas station and along Amy Road. There is a pedestrian crosswalk to transit across Amy Road to reach Amy Pond Park. Henson Trail continues onto Lakehurst Park. After strolling along the gravel pathway through Lakehurst Park the trail ends at Lakehurst Drive. Both Lakehurst Green Space and Willway Elementary School Green Space are across the road. This is a pleasant urban walk in the Goldstream neighborhood although there are few trees except in the parkland areas.

Henson Trail can be reached from the Trans Canada Highway also called Hwy1. Turn at the West Shore Parkway and make a right onto Amy Road to pass the gas station. Continue along Amy Road which merges with Sooke Lake Road. Turn left onto Mt Wells Road and take another left onto Lakehurst Drive. The trail is at the Lakehurst Park and Lakehurst Green Space. There is limited roadside parking this area.

Willway Elementary School Green Space

Located within the Sooke School District #62, Willway Elementary School yard is in Goldstream neighborhood of Langford, B.C. The green space that forms the school grounds has two playground areas, several benches and picnic tables. The two and half hectare green space is available outside of school hours. The front of the shcool building has some picnic tables near the grove of pine trees, possibly white pines. Also near the parking area, at the front of the school, is a asphalt area for sports such as hockey, as well as a small monkey bar set and swing set. The second playground has swings and a climbing platform that has a slide. It lies near the asphalt basketball court and hopscotch grids around the back of the school building. A small fenced garden area hosts several edible plants. Most of the school ground is a large open grass field used for sports like soccer, field hockey, baseball or running events. The green space is surrounded by chain link fencing, that border along private homes, except at the trails for Lakehurst Green Space, Robalee Green Space and the two Santana Green Spaces. This is great place to visit in your backyard. Gold Stream Provincial Park, Mt Wells Regional Park, Harlequin Park, Goldstream Meadows Park, Langford Lake Park and several green spaces are nearby.

Willway Elementary School Green Space can be reached from the Trans Canada Highway also called Hwy1. Turn at the Westshore Parkway and make a right onto Amy Road to pass the gas station. Continue along Amy Road which merges with Sooke Lake Road. Turn left onto Mt Wells Drive and look for the school at 2930. There is limited roadside parking this area and the school parking area is often gated.

Lakehurst Green Space

Lakehurst Green Space is in the Goldstream neighborhood of Langford, B.C. Consisting of a thirty meter long pathway between Lakehurst Drive and Willway Elementary School Green Space, this green space has several small shrubs and trees growing along its north side. The south side of the gravel and grass foot path is bordered by a three tree stumps and a chain link fence. This trail is part of a lovely walk though the Goldstream neighborhood and is frequented by  walkers, hikers and dog walkers. The trail connects with the pathway through Lakehurst Park and Ann Pond Park. Lakehurst Park, Ann Pond Park, Turner’s Bog Park, Willway Elementary School Green Space, Santana Green Spaces, Robalee Green Space, Harlequin Park and Cressida Park, Goldstream Provincial Park, Irwin Ponds Park and Mt Wells Park are nearby.

The trail to the park is between homes 2799 and 2829. There is limited roadside parking this area.

Lakehurst Park is in the Goldstream neighborhood of Langford, B.C. A gravel foot path through this park connects Amy Road, and through Amy Pond Park, with Lakehurst Drive. There are several small shrubs and a couple of tall trees grow along the hundred meter trail in this parkland. Amy Pond Park, Turner’s Bog Park, Lakehurst Green Space, Willway Elementary School Green Space, Gold Stream Provincial Park, Mt Wells Regional Park, Harlequin Park, Goldstream Meadows Park, Langford Lake Park and several green spaces are nearby.
