Metchosin Bike Park

 

The Metchosin Bike Park is in Metchosin, B.C. The park hosts a small circuit with several dirt jumps around the garry oak trees in the parkland. The firehall forms the north side of this park. A small grass field forms the south side of the park. The Metchosin Riding Ring, the cricket park, Metchosin School Museum, Metchosin School and pavilion are nearby.

Metchosin Bike Park can be reached from Highway 1 when you exit at the Millstream /Veteran Memorial Parkway . Head south along the Veteran Memorial Parkway to reach Latoria Road. Turn right onto Latoria Road and continue along to reach Happy Valley Road. Turn right onto Happy Valley Road. Continue along Happy Valley Road to reach the bike park which lies near the firehall and the municipal hall on Happy Valley Road. There is a small parking area. City buses travel along Happy Valley Road toward Metchosin Road.

Metchosin Cricket Park

 

The Metchosin Cricket Park is in Metchosin, B.C. The park has a grass cricket field with the hard packed cricket pitch in the center. A cedar hedge forms the western and southern perimeters of the field. A rough roadway is found on the northern side. A gazebo provides a good view point and is near the eastern side of the pitch.  The Riding Green Space, Bike Park, Hillman Green Space and the Galloping Goose Trail-Metchosin are nearby.

Metchosin Equestrian Riding Green Space

 

The volunteers that form the pony club in Metchosin built the riding ring in the late nineteen eighties. The open air ring is about thirty-five meters by sixty meters and covered with a fine all weather material; replaced in 2014. A grandstand completes the space which also has area for parking horse trailers, washrooms and water for horses. The riding ring is maintained by the Metchosin Equestrian Society members. This is a good place to get outdoors even on days when there is no events happening. The bike jump, cricket park, Metchosin School and Hillman Green Space are nearby.

Rocky Point Road Green Space

Rocky Point Road Green Space is in the District of Metchosin, a coastal community in the Capital Regional District of British Columbia. The bridle and pedestrian trail borders along north side of roadway and is one of many such roadside trails in this community. The dirt and gravel footpath is about one thousand meters long and connects Happy Valley Road with Winfall Road. The Galloping Goose Trail and Witty’s Lagoon Park are nearby.

Rocky Point Road Green Space can be reached from Highway 1 when you exit at the Millstream /Veteran Memorial Parkway exit. Head south along the Veteran Memorial Parkway to reach Latoria Road. Turn right onto Latoria Road and continue along to each Happy Valley Road. At the junction with Rocky Point Road turn onto right onto Rocky Point Road. The bridle trail is on the right and can be access from Winfall Road. There there is limited parking along Winfall Road. City buses travel along Happy Valley Road toward Metchosin Road.
