The Town of View Royal, BC, has some unique hilltop areas with views of Fisgard Lighthouse, forest areas, watery reefs and the Olympic Mountains of Washington State in the distance. This is one of those amazing places. Jalan Park is landscaped neighborhood park in View Royal, B.C. Located near the thirty two meter high summit of a granite outcrop, Jalan Park has a view to the south toward Price Bay, Cole Island and Esquimalt Harbour as well as views to the east toward Mt Douglas and Mt Tolmie in Saanich. At nearly one tenth of a hectare this small oasis has a fruit tree, several shrubs and a rocky terraced lawn area. It is good place to enjoy a refreshing view. The park is bordered by family homes and a residential complex each with their own distinct fence. Parson’s Bridge Park, Burchill Park, Mellor Park, Nursery Hill Park, Garry Oak Meadow Park, Atkin Road Green Space, the Galloping Goose Trail and Trans Canada Trail as well as Thetis Lake Park are nearby.

Jalan Park can be accessed from the Trans Canada Highway, Hwy1. Exit onto the Island Highway and stay to the left to merge with traffic going under the freeway and railway overpasses. Turn right onto Six Mile Road and look for the Damon Drive to the right. Turn up the hill onto Damon Drive then turn right onto Jalan Place. The park is on the left side of Jalan Place. There is limited parking in this hilltop neighborhood. City buses travel along the Six Mile Road and Island Highway.
