Thomas Park is nature area along the shore of Portage Inlet in View Royal, B.C. This waterfront park has a rough trail along the roadway easement though the poplar trees and shrubs to reach Portage Inlet. The two hundred and thirty-five meter long trail is along the salt water wetland section of the shore line from Thomas Park Drive to White Pine Road Green Space. There is no obvious pathway to the low grass and mud bank along the shore line of Portage Inlet. The neighbors, understandably, have erected temporary fences to limit access to the tidal area. The shore access looks like a private driveway and parking near the homes 182 and 148. This site is a good site to observe migratory birds such as gadwalls, widgeons, wood ducks, geese, loons, plovers, terns and grebes. White Pine Road Green Space, Polly Place Green Space, Tidewater Road Green Space, Midwood Green Space, Helmcken Centennial Park, Stillwater Road Green Space, Seabird Place Green Space and St. Giles Park are nearby.
