The grounds and gardens are maintained by an amazing group of volunteers and surround the official residence and office of the Lieutenant Governor for British Columbia. These gardens are typically open to the public and the residence is opened periodically. Set on a hilltop in the Rockland area of Victoria, BC, the gardens and property face south. There are excellent views of the Fairfield area of Victoria and the Salish Sea’s Strait of Juan de Fuca from most of the garden areas. Government House Gardens can be reached from Blanchard Street. Turn east onto Rockland Road and follow its turns and curves to reach the grounds. There is limited roadside parking. City buses travel along Fairfield Road from downtown Victoria.
