Selkirk Green trees 2 Selkirk Green arbour 2Selkirk Green is a quarter of a hectare treed lined grassy area in the midst of the housing and office building of the Selkirk Waterfront development. This oasis has benches and picnic sites as well as great place for tossing a ball around. Sidewalks form the perimeter of the green and are shaded by hedge maple trees. The roadside end of the park have lovely wisteria (Wisteria macrostachya) climbing the length of arbors. The Selkirk Waterfront of the Victoria Harbour is the merger point with the Gorge Waterway as it lies between Point Ellice and Chapman Point. Selkirk Green lies across Waterfront Crescent from Cecelia Cove Park and Sawmill Point. To extend your walk in your backyard stroll toward the Selkirk Trestle and Galloping Goose Regional Trail. With a little more time continue onto the parkland and gardens in Banfield Park.  The Victoria Heritage Foundation has further information on the Selkirk area.

Selkirk Green can be reached from Blanchard Street. Turn west onto Finlayson Street and continue past the junction with Gorge Road East to reach Jutland Road and Waterfront Crescent. Selkirk Green lies between Jackladder Lane and Waterfront Crescent. There is limited roadside parking along these roads. A city bus travels along Gorge Road East from downtown.
