This green space is maintained by a group of volunteers who formed a urban garden from gravel parking lot. Spring Ridge Commons Garden is one of three community gardens in the Fernwood area. The other gardens are the Chambers Street Garden and Earthbound Garden. Spring Ridge Commons is must visit for aspiring gardeners in Victoria particularly those wanting to learn about the changes that occur with permaculture and organic compost plantings over a fifteen year period. The woodchip pathways lead through the comprehensive garden to merge at a terrific information sign. Explore this urban oasis to view rock wall plantings, smell the herbs in their unique spiral bed and relax under the arbour at the wooden bench while listening to the sounds of a garden. Stevenson Memorial Park with a playground is a short walking along Stelly Street. Chambers Street Garden, Victoria High School Green Space and Haegart Park are southward along Chambers Street.
