A fabulous site for a respite, Spirit Garden is an 0.12 hectare oasis for exploring the outdoors. Developed by a motivated group of volunteers with the North Jubilee Neighborhood Association, the garden is filled with an abundance of plants. Lemon mint, bleeding hearts and rhododendrons to name a few. The ninety-five meter curving gravel footpath permits access from both King Street and Newton Street in the Oaklands neighborhood of Victoria. There is comfortable wooden bench under a shady tree. Brick archways allow entry into the park. The park is along the creek bed of Bowker Creek which can be seen in the Richmond Elementary School Green Space across the Newton Street. The creek is underground, at this garden, as it is over much of its length. There are efforts to restore the watershed underway.
