Slightly larger than half a hectare, Alexander Park has a great playground and some wide open spaces beside the playground. This park is a favorite for local dog owners who can enjoy the partially fenced parkland. Dogs can be off lease only earlier in the mornings and later in afternoons. Be sure to read the signage for current usage as this park. This park is frequented by parents and small children. The playground is undergoing an upgrade and is sure to wonderful. At the moment it has a couple of swings for toddlers and big kids. There is a slide and climbing apparatus that is part of larger platform structure. Alexander Park can be reached from Blanchard Street. Turn east onto Bay Street and continue past Fernwood Road to Oregon Avenue. The park is along Oregon, Bay and Walnut streets where there is some roadside parking. City buses travel along Fernwood Road, Bay and Shelbourne streets from downtown toward the University of Victoria.
