20140413_09Ivy Place Knoll, Oaklands, Victoria, BC2231This discrete natural footpath is a connector trail between the end of Ivy Place to Hamilton Street. The rough trail is steep and sometimes slippery over the granite rocks and covers a distance of about eighty meters. There are several Garry Oak trees and smaller shrubs in this green space. The knoll is included in the Oaklands Greenway Loop. The loop includes Mt Stephen Ryan Park, the Jewish Cemetery, Ryan Ivy Green, Oaklands Green, Oaklands Elementary School Green Space and Ryan Hill Park.

You can get Ivy Place Knoll from Patricia Bay Highway (which becomes Blanchard Street) . Turn east onto Hillside Avenue and continue Hamilton Road, which is one block past the lights at Cedar Hill Road. Turn right onto Hamilton Road and look for the access to Ivy Place Knoll at the curve in the road at 1401 Hamilton. The pathway looks like part of the driveway. There is limited parking along Hamilton Road. A bus travels along Hillside Avenue from downtown to the University of Victoria
