Balsam Park

A rare gem in the North Saanich area, Balsam Park has terrific playground and large grass field for children, of all ages, to play on.  The parkland is about half an hectare in size. Its northern side bordered by the fences of the neighborhood homes and a few trees. The playground includes a climbing structure with a slide. There are also two swing sets.  This quiet neighborhood  park can be reached from either Balsam or Basswood roads.

Balsam Park can be reached from from Pat Bay Highway. Turn at Exit 26, the McTavish Interchange,  the unique and confusing series of roundabouts that make a multi-circle roadway overpass. Take the third exit onto McTavish Road then take the first exit onto Canora Road. Continue onto Willingdon Road and at the roundabout take the third exit onto East Saanich Road. Turn right onto Dickson Avenue or take the next right onto Graham Avenue. Once along Dickson Avenue turn left onto Balsam Road and look for the park to the left near the end of the street. Alternatively, once along Graham Avenue look for the park at the junction with Basswood Road. There is roadside parking along Balsam and Basswood roads.
