Free Ride Bike Park

Archives

freebikeNS mapWhile not a green space, per say, this bike park is a popular place to learn jumps, improve on skills and ride tracks. The park was established and maintained through the collaboration of the District of North Saanich and a vibrant group of mountain bike cyclists. The specialized bumps and jumps vary in difficulty and are noted on the signage at the park. This park maybe closed due to poor trail conditions and for maintenance. It borders on offices and yard of the District of North Saanich.

You can get to Free Ride Bike Park from Pat Bay Highway.  Follow the highway out to Sidney and turn left at Beacon Avenue and continue as the road curves to become McDonald Park Road. The intersection turn left onto Mills Road and then take the first right onto Littlewood Road. There is a small gravel parking area on near the  part entrance on the left. This can be good place to start a cycling tour of the Flight Path, a paved trail that circles the entire airport.
