This trail and green space is formed from the road allowance provided for the north-south lay of Alder Road in North Saanich. The North and South portions of Alder Road Trail consists of a series of trails that connect roads and parkland on the Saanich Peninsula between Wain and Hillgrove roads. The multi-use trail is well used by hikers and horse-riders as well as cyclists. Where the lands were once farmed the trails contain more alder and cottonwood. To extend with walk in your backyard, take the trail beside Gardner Pond or one of the branches to reach Tatlow Road and Littlewood Road North.
