Located on the northern tip of the Saanich Peninsula, the beach trail from Junco Road is to the rocky shoreline on Satellite Channel and Colburne Passage. The view of the navigation markers, Piers Island, Arbutus Islet and the waters of the Salish Sea are excellent. The rocky shoreline is uneven due to sedimentary rocks that have been tilted almost vertically. Keep a watchful eye out for unusual sized waves made by the passing yachts and ferries . The fairly steep trail from Junco Road is a rough pathway that leads to 101 step staircase. The staircase is made of a variety of materials: concrete and rocks, four-by-four ties, and wire covered two-by-two. If you are wondering which is best, come visit this green space. This beach access is between the homes of this North Saanich neighborhood. This green space is a second growth forest with Douglas-fir, cedar and Arbutus trees.
