This excellent and scenic walk along the waterfront of Sidney is pleasant year round. It is a lovely area for meeting up with friends and family, taking in the Salish Sea and enjoying the local eateries. The walkway starts near the Port of Sidney Marina and follows the shoreline to the the southern border of Sidney. It connects Seaport Park, Beacon Park, Eastview Park, Tulista Park and Lochside Waterfront Park over the two thousand five hundred meter length. Near the Port of Sidney, the walkway follows the waterfront around the restaurants and stores and leads toward the bandstand, behind the Sidney Museum, in Beacon Park. Continue along and enjoy the outdoor art. At the end of Beacon Avenue take a look for the Beacon Pole, an old navigational marker. The brick walkway continues toward the diver into Eastview Park. More outdoor art can be seen here. Once you pass Eastview Park, the pathway is gravel and rougher, but still wheelchair accessible, as it continues along the water front toward Tulista Park and Lochside Waterfront Park.
You can get to Port Sidney from Pat Bay Highway. Turn at the Beacon Avenue exit and drive to the end of the road around the traffic circle and exit on to First Avenue. Ample paid parking is available near the marina or alternatively, park at any of the areas along the walkway to enjoy the waterfront. The closest public bus transport is at Fifth Avenue.
